আমি আপোনালোকক জনাবলৈ পাই অতি আনন্দিত যে, এই বছৰৰ ১০-মাৰ্চ-২০১১ ইং তাৰিখে XOBDO.ORG বা ‘শব্দ’ই সফলতাৰে পঞ্চম বছৰ সম্পূৰ্ণ কৰিলে।

‘শব্দ’ হৈছে প্ৰধানতঃ সমূহীয়াভাৱে উত্তৰপূৰ্বাঞ্চলৰ উন্নতিৰ হকে কাম কৰিব বিচৰা, পৃথিৱীৰ বিভিন্ন প্ৰান্তত বাস কৰা কেতবোৰ লোকৰ এটি সংঘ৷ ‘শব্দ’ক বৰ্তমান মুনাফাহীন অনুস্থান হিচাপে 1860 চনৰ Societies Act XXI অনুসৰি 2010-2011-ৰ বাবে KAM(M)/240/A-24/35 নম্বৰত পঞ্জীয়ন কৰা হৈছে আৰু গুৱাহাটীৰ বেলতলাৰ অশোক পথৰ 20 নম্বৰ ঘৰ ইয়াৰ স্থায়ী কাৰ্যালয়৷

নিজ মাতৃভাষাৰ প্ৰতি থকা প্ৰেমে, ১৬০০-ৰো অধিক সাধাৰণ ব্যক্তিৰ বিশ্বজোৰা সহযোগিতামূলক প্ৰচেষ্টাই, জন্ম দিলে এই অভূতপূৰ্ব প্ৰকল্পৰ –  উত্তৰপূৰ্বাঞ্চলৰ ভাষাবোৰৰ এখন বহুদিশীয়া, বহুভাষীক (Multilingual), বহুমাধ্যম (multi-media) সন্নিবিষ্ট, সতাঁৰ(online) অভিধান৷ ইয়াত বৰ্তমান উত্তৰপূৰ্বাঞ্চলৰ ২৩টা ভাষাক স্থান দিয়া হৈছে আৰু মূল ইংৰাজী-অসমীয়া শব্দৰ সমাৰ্থক হিচাপে আন ভাষাৰ শব্দবোৰ অন্তৰ্ভুক্ত কৰা হৈছে৷ ‘শব্দ’ত বৰ্তমানে ৩৫০০০ৰো অধিক অসমীয়া শব্দৰ সম্ভাৰ আছে আৰু প্ৰতিদিনে কাৰ্বি, বড়ো, আপাটানি, ৰাভা, ডিমাছা, মিছিং, মণিপুৰী (মেইতেইলন), হিন্দী, বাংলা আদি ভাষাৰ শব্দ দ্ৰুতভাৱে যোগ হৈ আছে৷

 

বৰ্তমান ‘শব্দ’ই অভিধান নিৰ্মানৰ উপৰিও ‘সঁফুৰা সৱলীকৰণ আঁচনি’-ৰ জৰিয়তে ইণ্টাৰনেটত অসমীয়া সমল সংৰক্ষণ কৰাৰ অভিলাষী আঁচনিও গ্ৰহণ কৰিছে৷

বিদেশত থকা অসমীয়া শিশুসকলক অসমীয়া ভাষাৰ শিক্ষা প্ৰদান কৰাৰ কাৰণে ‘অসমীয়া ভাষা-শিক্ষণ সঁজুলি’ৰ তৈয়াৰ কৰা হৈছে৷ ইয়াৰ সহায়ত মধ্যপ্ৰাচ্যৰ আবুধাবি চহৰ আৰু কেলিফৰ্ণিয়াৰ "বে-এৰিয়া"ত শিশুসকলক অসমীয়া পাঠদানৰ কাৰ্য্যসূচী ইতিমধ্যে চলি আছে৷ সঁজুলিসমূহ বিনামূলীয়াকৈ এই জালস্থানত পোৱা যায়: http://learn.xobdo.org

৪৷ "অসমীয়াত কথা বতৰা" :  নৰৱেইত গৱেষণা কৰি থকা পংকজ বৰাই আৰম্ভ কৰা ফেচবুকৰ এই গোটটোৱে চাইবাৰ জগতত এক প্ৰকাৰৰ ভাষা আন্দোলনৰ সূচনা কৰে৷ আজি কেইদিন মানৰ পৰা বিকৃত অসমীয়া ভাষাৰ ব্যৱহাৰেৰে অসমীয়া কাকত-আলোচনীৰ বিজ্ঞাপনবোৰ ভৰি পৰিছে৷ এই গোটৰ হেঁচাত ডাঙৰ ডাঙৰ বহুজাতিক কোম্পানীবোৰেও ভুল মানি লৈ ক্ষমা বিচাৰিলে আৰু বিজ্ঞাপনবোৰ শুধৰালে৷

4. "ই-জোনাকী যুগ"ৰ প্ৰচেষ্টা : যোৰহাটৰ সন্তান বৰ্তমান নেদাৰলেণ্ডৰ বিশিষ্ট নাগৰিক শ্ৰী ৱাহেদ চালেহৰ সক্ৰিয় নেতৃত্বত আৰম্ভ হোৱা এই প্ৰচেষ্টাই চাইবাৰ জগতত অসমীয়া সমল বৃদ্ধিত বিশেষ অৰিহণা যোগায়৷

 

‘শব্দ’ই যোৱা বছৰৰ পৰা দুটা পৰ্যায়ত প্ৰাথমিক স্কুলৰ পৰা স্নাতক পৰ্যায়ৰ ভিতৰত অসমীয়া ভাষাত বিভিন্ন বিষয়ৰ ৰচনা প্ৰতিযোগিতাৰ আয়োজন কৰিছিল৷ এই ৰচনা প্ৰতিযোগিতাত বিজয়ী হোৱা চাৰিগৰাকী প্ৰতিযোগিকো আমি আজি এই অনুষ্ঠানৰ লগতে সংগতি ৰাখি পুৰস্কৃত কৰিব বিচাৰিছোঁ৷

With great pleasure, we would like to announce that XOBDO.ORG has successfully completed 5 years of existence on 10-March-2011.

XOBDO is a group of people living across the globe to collectively do something good for the region. Now, it is an NGO registered under "Registration of Societies Act XXI of 1860" with a registration number of RS/KAM(M)/240/A-24/352 of 2010-2011 with an office at House No-20, Ashok Path Beltola, Guwahati.

The love for their mother tongue has generated more than 1600 selfless volunteers who are working day and night from different parts of the world to create this unique project – a multi-directional, multi-lingual, multi-media embedded, online dictionary of the languages of the North-East India. Apart from achieving 35000 Assamese words, it is already galloping ahead with a large corpus of Karbi, Dimasa, Mising, Meeteilon, Hindi and Bengali words. Efforts are on to attract volunteers to provide a constant addition of words in the other 23 languages adopted in the project.

Apart from creating the online dictionary, XOBDO is also involved in an ambitious project to digitize and archive many old and new Assamese texts in collaboration with www.xophura.org 

XOBDO.ORG has also prepared course materials to teach Assamese to the children of the non-residents Assamese people living in different parts of the world. Using these materials two class room sessions are going on - one in Abu Dhabi, UAE and another in Bay Area of California. The materials are freely available from http://learn.xobdo.org

Like last year, this year also XOBDO.ORG would like to recognize 8 person who selflessly contributed directly to these efforts. We would also like to recognize other 3 people and 4 organizations or entities who contributed significantly towards advancement of Assamese in the internet.

2. Himjyoti Talukdar: for all the online and offline publicity he gathered for various projects related to the use of Assamese over the internet.

3. Uddip Talukdar - for English-Assamese translations (especially of Sherlock Holmes stories)

4. Oxomiya Kotha Botora : A Facebook group started by Mr. Pankaj Borah, who is currently pursuing Ph D   Norway.  The group initiating a kind of language revolution (ভাষা আন্দোলন) in the internet. Due to the pressure from this group a number of national and multinational companies were forced to apologize and correct their advertisement published in distorted Assamese.

5. enajori.com:  for spreading and popularizing Assamese in the internet.

 

6. The Sunday India (Assamese version): For being the first

full-fledged Assamese Unicode online magazine.

7. e-Jonaki Jug Initiatives: A initiative started and lead by Mr. Wahid Saleh, born in Jorhat and now a prominent citizen of The Netherlands. The initiative helped to increate online Assamese contents.

Last year XOBDO conducted a series of essay competetion to encourage students to write in Assamese. The results are as follows:

XOBDO.ORG decided to continue conducting all Assam essay competition in the future as well.

XOBDO has a number of other dedicated volunteers whom we could not include this year. Without their selfless dedication, it would have not been possible for XOBDO to reach where it stands now.
